UPDATE #11: Travis Barker/DJ AM Plane Crash September 22, 2008

Travis Barker and his clothing company Famous Stars and Straps have released a truly touching tribute video of Travis’s best friend/assistant Chris “Lil’ Chris” Baker. Chris was among the four who perished in the crash – which also took the life of Travis’s other friend Charles Still, a security guard.

The video was released exclusively to People.com and can be viewed HERE.

Tal Cooperman, who runs the brand DCMA Collective, said the following: “He really represented Travis and his company in the best way I’ve ever seen.”

In other news, DJ AM’s Facebook status has been updated. It now reads, “Adam Goldstein is ALIVE!!!!!!”

Chris Baker and Charles Still are being remembered by their families and friends, and their celebrity comrades.

“I still can’t believe he is gone. He was a person that was always smiling, always happy and always cracking jokes. He was not just Travis’ best friend — he was everybody’s best friend,” Lil Jon said in a statement to MTV News. “He was one of the coolest, nicest and caring people I knew. He was always trying to make sure everybody was OK. It’s a tragedy when you lose people like this. All I keep thinking about is his son. He looks just like his father and already is a star.”

“Lil Chris was like a brother to me — I loved him like a brother and he loved me like one. His memory is forever implanted into my heart. There will not be a day I live where I don’t think of my brother,” the Game also told MTV News. “Travis, I love you too, homie. See you soon. Your pain is my pain.”

Well wishes were also echoed by Fall Out Boy and Cobra Starship – both bands have toured with Travis’s band +44 in the past.

Just hours after the crash, Fall Out Boy told MTV News, “Chris was a rad guy. He always had a way to get us to smile on tour, no matter what situation we were in, and he was truly beloved.”

“Chris was an awesome dude, and I’m shocked and saddened this happened,” Cobra Starship’s Gabe Saporta added. “I just don’t know what else to say beyond that.”

Miley NOT Leaving Hannah Montana

Alright all you Hannah Montana fans (ahem, I guess I’ll include myself in that “all you” statement.) We can breathe a sigh of relief!

Despite the rumors than ran a muck this summer, Miley Cyrus is NOT leaving Hannah Montana.

“I am fully committed to Hannah Montana. It’s what gave me this amazing opportunity to reach out to so many people,” Cyrus tells People magazine, adding, “I couldn’t do it alone. We have an amazing cast that is so supportive, including my dad who has been there for me every step of the way.”

Over the weekend, more rumors surfaced that her and her dad Billy Ray were causing crazy amounts of drama on the set of the show, and that Miley was on the outs with HM costar Emily Osment. Miley, of course, refutes these rumors and says it’s “a lot of craziness.”

And while she and Emily have the occasional fight on set, the source adds the teen duo are like sisters, and make up quickly.

A Disney Channel rep had the following to say, “Miley is really devoted to the show and she’s really upset by the gossip. Miley is never late to work. Every minute of her day is planned out. When she’s not shooting the movie or the series, she’s recording the [Hannah Montana] soundtrack. She has a lot invested in Hannah Montana. It’s not going away any time soon.”

“I’m really excited about our new season,” Miley said. “We are making great new episodes that I can’t wait for our fans to see.”

Filming on the show’s third season began last month and the network has a contractional option to film a fourth season in the future.

BREAKING NEWS: Coroner Reports

Harry Harman, the coroner for Lexington County, South Carolina, released the causes of death for the pilot, co-pilot, as well as the other two passengers aboard the ill-fated Learjet.

Pilot Sarah Lemmon and co-pilot James Bland died of smoke inhalation and burns suffered in the crash.

Chris “Lil’ Chris” Baker, Travis’s assistant and Charles Still, a security guard, both of whom were friends and professional colleagues of Travis and DJ AM, were both said to have died as a result of impact-related injuries.

Harman said that Chris died from a cervical neck fracture caused by blunt force trauma to the head and neck, and Charles succumbed to acute subdural hematoma caused by blunt force trauma to the head.

Travis Barker’s ex-wife (and on-again/off-again gf) Shanna Moakler has released a statement regarding the plane crash.

She says, “There are not enough words to express how thankful we are for the outpouring of love and support we have received during this very difficult time. We can only ask for prayers as we heal and mourn the loss of our dear friends who we considered part of our family. Our lives will be changed forever.”

The couple have two children together: son Landon, 4 and daughter Alabama, 2.

More Jamie Lynn Spears Baby Drama!

A photo of Jamie Lynn Spears breastfeeding is looking to be sold for some big bucks.

Ew – she’s 17 and that’s very illegal. Perverts.

However, baby daddy Casey Aldridge took the photo with his digital camera, and then went to Wal Mart to have it developed.

Idiot move.

So, thoughts are that a person developing the photo made more copies of the picture with JL’s breast exposed, and has been shopping around trying to cut a deal from it.

BUT… it’s being reported that anyone purchasing the pictures could be prosecuted for the crime of receiving stolen property. And JL’s sister Britney’s badass lawyers are looking to get in on the action, and might sue the Wal-Mart for a security breach.

Casey’s not the brightest crayon in the box, now is he? Dump his ass Jamie Lynn.

UPDATE #8: Travis Barker/DJ AM Plane Crash

More news about this unfortunate incident.

People.com is reporting that a blown tire may be to blame for the crash.

Debbie Hersman, board member of the National Transportation Safety Board in Washington, D.C. said, “The cockpit voice recorder went on for two hours, but the last 18 minutes were most pertinent, because those words proved that it was a tire blowout that [may have] caused the crash killing four people.”

According to the Air Traffic Control tapes, the control towers said that they gave the crew clearance to depart, as well as the wind speeds. The tapes also included sounds of the crew saying they saw sparks and heard the crew on the plane explaining that they were going off of the runway.

Just 100 ft. past the end of the runway, the jet came to a final rest.

“We are doing a lot more investigating because, while it is not uncommon to blow a tire, it is rare for something like that to end in a fatal accident,” says Hersman. “Reasons could be anything from inflation levels, materials, punctures, design, etc. So we are doing everything in our power to learn what transpired and make recommendations so nothing like this ever happens again.”

UPDATE #9: E! Online has learned that Mandy Moore has rushed to DJ AM’s bedside. Her rep confirmed that the singer/actress did indeed fly to Columbia, South Carolina to be with her ex-boyfriend, who is in a hospital in nearby Augusta, Georgia.

He and Mandy started a relationship back in December 2006, but amicably split three months later. The duo have remained close friends ever since.

Mandy isn’t the only celebrity to head down south. Producer Jermaine Dupri was spotted at the hospital today as well.
