Hollywood Is My Hood

Famous People Are Just More Interesting

Melrose Place version 2.0! October 29, 2008

So the CW network is following in its own footsteps a la 90210 and a rep for the network confirmed that they are “exploring” the possibility of creating a new version of the 90s show.

However, talks about reviving the show have just begun and there are no writers or producers attached to the show.

The Hollywood Reporter is in fact confirming that version 2.0 of Melrose Place is happening!

New Couple Alert!

So if you’re a fan of Entourage, then you’d know that former Sopranos actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler was in a recent episode and hooked up with Turtle (Jerry Ferrara).

WELL, it looks as though life is imitating art, because my sources are telling me that Jamie-Lynn and Jerry are a couple in real life!

Supposedly, she was raving about him to her friends last week at the Breeders Cup.

Best of luck to the cute couple!

And Then There Were Two…? October 27, 2008

Rumors are floating around that another member of Danity Kane has left the band.

NYC radio station Z100 is reporting that Shannon Bex (the married one) has called it quits.

Apparently she was “tired of all the drama, catfights, and Diddy.”

Aw crap.

Sarah Palin on SNL! October 19, 2008

So Sarah Palin finally appeared on Saturday Night Live last night, and it was pretty hilarious.

The following is taken from People.com, word for word, because I’m far too lazy to write about it all:

Watching backstage as Fey did another spot-on impersonation – this time holding a press conference – Palin told Lorne Michaels, executive producer of SNL, “I just didn’t think it was a realistic depiction of the way my press conferences would have gone.”

Mark Walhberg joined them, looking for Andy Samberg to “bust his head open” after a sketch aired last week, in which Samberg played Walhberg talking to animals.

“He didn’t like the impression we did of him on the show,” Lorne explained to Gov. Palin.

“Tell me about it,” Palin answered back with a smile.

Enter 30 Rock star (and frequent SNL host) Alec Baldwin, who addressed Palin as “Tina.”

“You can’t let Tina go out there with that woman,” Baldwin told Lorne. “She goes against everything we stand for . . . They call her, they call her – what’s that name they call her?”

“That’d be Caribou Barbie,” Palin answered.

Once Lorne introduced the candidate to Baldwin, he told her, “You are way hotter in person.”

Her reply: “Why thank you . . . and I must say, you’re brother Stephen is my favorite Baldwin brother.”

Baldwin then walked over to the podium where Fey was continuing her impersonation – “the only poll I care about is the North Pole” – and informed her that the real governor was there. Dressed identically, the two women crossed paths but did not speak as Palin replaced her doppelganger at the podium.

That’s when Palin uttered those famous words, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!”

Later in the show, Palin bobbed her head  (and even raised the roof!) to the music while Weekend Update host Amy Poehler performed a rap about the governor’s vice presidential campaign.

Re-Making the Band?! October 16, 2008

Oh Lord. Leave it to Diddy to stir up some crazy ass drama.

Making the Band 4 is returning with bonus episodes in early 2009.

So what will these episodes pertain to? Who the hell knows. However, I have a strong feeling that Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods will be “welcomed” back into the band – if they ever left in the first place.

Yes, yes, I know that they were “kicked out” on live television Tuesday night, but with the major success Danity Kane has had and how greedy Diddy is, I’m sure he’ll bring the two ladies back.

EVP Series Development & Programming at MTV, Tony DiSanto, said, “There is so much more story to tell, amazing music and great drama to come. With Diddy you never quite know exactly what’s next…But it’s pretty certain you won’t be able to take your eyes off!”

Diddy better bring those two back!

Aubrey & D.Woods Kicked Out of Danity Kane! October 15, 2008

OMG!  OMG!  OMG!  OMG!  OMG!  OMG!  OMG!  OMG!

Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods (real name: Wanita Woodgette) were kicked out of the band Danity Kane last night during the LIVE part 2 season finale episode of Making the Band 4.

The reason? Aubrella’s image.

“”I got love for Aubrey. I don’t have any beef with her. I just want to work with the young lady that I signed, not the person that fame has made her,” said Diddy via satellite on the show. He continued, saying, “Check this out, baby girl… See, your attitude is gonna have you in a dark and lonely place. … What you need to do, at the end of the day, is humble yourself.”

“I don’t think any of us has been happy for a long time,” admitted D. Woods, who Diddy said had gotten “caught up in the wrath” of Aubrey.

DK member Dawn Richard said post-firing, “Puff did not like [Aubrey’s] image…where her image was going for the group.”

So what did miss Aubrey have to say about all this? “I would rather be hated every damn day of my life for being real than loved for being something I’m not,” she defiantly told Sway.

Who’s left, you’re asking? Aundrea Fimbres, Shannon Bex, and Dawn Richard.

No word on whether or not Danity Kane plans to break up.

Britney Spears: “What the Hell Was I Thinking?” October 10, 2008

Filed under: Britney Spears,TV News — Alexandra @ 10:50 am

My girl Britney Spears has finally opened up about everything that’s been going on in her life the past two years.

In an upcoming MTV documentary, tentatively titled Britney Spears: For the Record, BritBrit discusses everything from her divorce from Kevin Federline, her forced psychiatric hospitalization, and the custody loss of her two young sons.

“I sit there and I’ll look back and I’m like: I’m a smart person. What the hell was I thinking?” she says in the 90-minute doc.

In the clip provided by MTV, she says, “I’ve been through a lot in the past two or three years, and there’s a lot that people don’t know.” Sometimes I think I get kind of lonely because you don’t open the gate up that much, you know I mean?” she adds. “You’re guarded. You have to be that way, so I’m kind of stuck in this place and it’s like: How do you deal? And you just cope, and that’s what I do. I just cope with it, every day.”

The documentary airs on MTV November 30, two days before her album Circus hits stores.
