Aww, how bittersweet for Carson Daly, especially after the end of TRL.

People has learned exclusively that he and his girlfriend Siri Pinter are expecting their first child together this spring.

“Carson is thrilled to be a father and they are looking forward to an extra special Thanksgiving this year with family and friends,” his rep Heather Lylis told People.

Britney’s Life Worse Than Jail Sentence! November 18, 2008

Ever since Britney Spears had that breakdown, she says that her life has been worse than a jail sentence.

In the new 90 minute documentary, Britney: For the Record, set to air on MTV November 30, BritBrit admits, “I have really good days, and then I have bad days.”

She continues, “Even when you go to jail, y’know, there’s the time when you’re gonna get out. But in this situation, it’s never ending. It’s just like [the Bill Murray movie] Groundhog Day. I’m having to pay for it for a really long time.”

As you all know, BritBrit was hospitalized for mental evaluation in January, which, of course, resulted in her losing custody of her two children to ex-husband Kevin Federline. Ever since, Papa [Jamie] Spears has been given the title of conservator – gaining legal control over her affairs.

“If I wasn’t under the restraints that I’m under right now, I’d feel so liberated,” she says in the documentary (which, FYI, follows the pop star around while she promotes her new album Circus). When I tell them the way I feel, it’s like they hear me, but they’re really not listening.”

With a camera crew following her around for an amazing three months, Brit says she’s getting her life back on track. “I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn’t being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I’ve been through and where I’m headed. I think I’ve learned my lesson now, and enough is enough.”

TRL Says Goodbye… November 17, 2008

TRL VJ's: Past and Present

Last night, MTV aired a live final TRL show, titled Total Finale Live. The show ran an amazing three hours and featured, like, a million guests, including: Beyonce, Fall Out Boy, Hilary Duff, Diddy, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, and so many more.

Carson Daly, the original host of the show, came back to co-host, along with every single co-host in TRL history.

And a rather touching moment that continued throughtout the show was courtesy of Taylor Swift, who carried around a TRL yearbook and had each and every guest sign! Aww.

Other highlights include:

  • Travis Barker, in his first interview since the deadly plane crash, telling the crowd via sattellite that “every day gets better” and he’s “already playing my drums again.” He’s back in the studio as well.
  • Diddy tearing up as co-host Damien Fahey recapped his 30+ appearances on the show courtesy of old clips. Total Finale Live marked Diddy’s 37th appearance.
  • Former *NSYNC members Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez reunited on stage.
  • Britney Spears held the #1 spot for “…Baby One More Time” – the biggest TRL video of all time!
  • Killer performances by the Fall Out Boy, Beyonce, Snoop Dogg/Ludacris/Nelly, and the Backstreet Boys

It was a fitting tribue. TRL premiered back in 1998, when I was in grammar school. And rushing to be in front of the television by 3 p.m. was just so important. I’ll certainly miss it.

Kendra Wilkinson, one of Hugh Hefner’s three ex-girlfriends, is engaged to Philadelphia Eagles football player, Hank Baskett.

And believe it or not, Kendra wasn’t the one to break the news – it was Hef — and he also plans to give Kendra away at her wedding, which of course will be held at the Playboy Mansion, next June.

“[She] has met someone who she would like to spend the rest of her life with,” Hefner said in a statement on Thursday. “I have given her my blessing and will be giving her away at a very special wedding ceremony at the Playboy Mansion this coming June.”

Grey’s Flatlines Dr. Hahn November 4, 2008

Callie (l. Sara Ramirez) and Dr. Hahn (r. Brooke Smith)

Callie (l. Sara Ramirez) and Dr. Hahn (r. Brooke Smith)

Ahhhh what the eff?! TV’s favorite lesbian couple is no more!

The people over at ABC have told Shonda Rhimes (creator of Grey’s Anatomy) to cut out Brooke Smith, the actress who plays Callie’s (Sara Ramirez) lesbian love interest, Dr. Hahn, immediately.

Her last episode is this Thursday aka TWO DAYS.

Of course, Brooke offered a response to her firing, saying, “I was very excited when they told me that Erica and Callie were going to have this relationship. And I really hoped we were going to show what happens when two women fall in love and that they were going to treat it like any heterosexual couple on TV. And so I was surprised and disappointed when they just suddenly told me that they couldn’t write for my character anymore.”

The best part is that Brooke’s character wasn’t even given a proper goodbye. She says that her final scene is “just me heading to my car.”

That’s so freakin’ sad.

Shonda responded to the news as well, saying, “Brooke Smith was obviously not fired for playing a lesbian. Clearly it’s not an issue as we have a lesbian character on the show – Calliope Torres. Sara Ramirez is an incredible comedic and dramatic actress and we wanted to be able to play up her magic. Unfortunately, we did not find that the magic and chemistry with Brooke’s character would sustain in the long run. The impact of the Callie/Erica relationship will be felt and played out in a story for Callie. I believe it belittles the relationship to simply replace Erica with ‘another lesbian.’ If you’ll remember, Cristina mourned the loss of Burke for a full season.”

Seriously?! Seriously?

Selena Gomez Heads to the Big Screen October 29, 2008

Oohhhhh man. Yet another Disney Channel show will be making its way to the silver screen.

Much like they did for the Lizzie McGuire film, and the upcoming Hannah Montana movie, Wizards of Waverly Place will be made into a movie!

Miley Cyrus Selena Gomez opened up recently about the exciting news and has even revealed that they plan on filming in New York, where the show takes place.

As for the plot, she says, “I think it would have to be that our secret is about to be exposed.”

Uh, for those of you who don’t know what the show is about, it’s about a family of wizards whose kids (Selena and two brothers) have magical powers.

So the show, which is in its second season, continues to do well. What else should fans expect from the season? Selena says, “I think that my fans will expect more magic and crazy stuff going on. I think you see Alex (played by Selena) more mature this season. She gets her first boyfriend. His name is Daniel, and he’s just this really sweet guy who, I honestly think, has a lot of potential. I think he’s going to do great.”

While she isn’t filming the show, Selena continues to make attempts to get hunk Shia LaBeouf to appear on the show, or even in the movie. “You’d think that as much as I promote it (Shia would be guest starring). I’m, like, begging, but it’s not happening. I know I’m a nerd! Please, Shia, come on my show!”

Aww. Cuuute. Kind of.
