The Green Lantern Has Been Cast! July 12, 2009

Reports circulated recently that Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds, and Justin Timberlake (whyyyy?!!?!?) were all considered for the role as the Green Lantern in the upcoming Warner Bros. film adaptation of the DC Comic.

But thankfully, people smartened up and realized that Justin sucks at acting.

Instead, Ryan has been cast, and shooting is said to begin sometime in January. Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, Goldeneye) is set to be directing the flick.

And while I love love love me some Bradley Cooper, Ryan definitely has that superhero look to him.

Lauren Conrad Tops NY Times Best Seller List! July 12, 2009

Who would have thought that Lauren Conrad would emerge as a New York Times best selling author? But the girl once known as LC from Laguna Beach has done just that!

Lauren’s book, L.A. Candy, which is “loosely based” on her own life, is about a 19-year-old girl who moves to Hollywood and ends up as the star of her own reality show. And it has now topped the list for TWO weeks!

“If someone said to me five years ago when this all started that I would one day make the New York Times Best Seller list I wouldn’t have believed it,” Conrad told People exclusively. “I am so honored that it is now a reality.”

L.A. Candy first hit bookstores on June 16, and is the first of a three-book deal for the reality TV alum.
