Soon to be ex-The Hills star to stare in her own show The City, Whitney Port spoke with Page Six magazine about her move to New York and life post- LA.

Here’s what she had to say, in a nutshell:

  • On preferring guys in NYC over LA:  “I was recently in L.A., and I couldn’t help but think, ‘Oh my gosh, everyone is kind of the exact same here. You have all these guys in the entertainment industry who are just trying to be smooth and super-cool … The guys [in New York] are [still] trying to be cool — guys do that everywhere — but they’re more confident and they know what they want.”
  • On keeping in touch with the West Coast girls: “I still talk to them every now and again — obviously, we’ve been part of such a big thing together, so we’re close in that way — but I was never too close with Audrina and Heidi. But Lauren and I talk. If anybody knows what I’m going through right now it’s her.”
  • On ending up on The Hills: “I had an interview [for an internship at Teen Vogue] and then got a phone call from MTV a couple of days later. They were like, ‘We’re shooting this documentary-style TV show about girls growing up in L.A. and the fashion industry, blah blah blah’ and I was like, ‘OK that’s interesting, whatever.’ “And the next thing I knew, they wanted to cast me on the show. “But I was really just trying to get the job at Teen Vogue!”
  • On staying true to herself: “I’ve never really noticed anyone giving me a hard time [since becoming famous.] Maybe they are and I’m just naive. But I figure if I just stay true to myself and I am the Whitney that I’ve always been, people will look at me not as Whitney from the show, but as a human being.”

In More Album News: Andy Samberg! December 14, 2008

I love him for this.

SNL member Andy Samberg’s debut album Incredibad (hahahaha) is set to come out on February 10.

The album is from his project Lonely Island, his three-man musical group consisting of Andy, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer.

The album is also set to feature Justin Timberlake, T-Pain, Norah Jones, and Jack Black AND will include a combination of songs from SNL – yes, including “Dick in a Box.”

Here’s what Andy had to say: “We definitely wanted it to be a classic comedy album, but also one you put on more than once. We’ve gone out of our way to make it musically pleasing. We started on a few songs that were not funny enough, for us, but they sounded pretty cool. And the bottom line for the project was, ‘Is it going to be funny first and music second?’ I think it’s 95 percent music, and we hope people would throw it on and bump it.When we did ‘Dick in a Box’ — and that’s what most people know us for — it’s an uphill battle from there.”

Pretty impressive, no?

Following in the footsteps of dad Lionel, mama Nicole Richie is busy working on an album – says the NY Daily News.

And apparently, she’s busy getting help from her friends Rihanna and Kelly Osbourne.

Now I’ve heard Nicole sing, and she’s not terrible – so I’m tres curious to hear how this album will turn out!
